To maintain the relationships and resolve disputes among the family, family counseling plays a major role. Family counseling is a type of psychotherapy that nurtures and forms an intimate relationship between family members and couples. There are five different types of family therapy

It is a solution based therapy that works for an individual and the whole family. The counselor analyzes the behavioral pattern of the family members and provides changes that have to be adopted as a family

    Bowenian family therapy

It is the therapy that focuses on individuals who don’t want to involve their family. The counselor works based on two core concepts which are triangulation (the tendency to vent by talking to a third person) and differentiation (becoming less emotionally reactive).

    Structural therapy

This therapy focuses on strengthening and building a bond between the family systems. It focuses on family interaction instead of the psyches of individuals. The issues are addressed based on hierarchy.

    Systemic therapy

This system helps individuals to better fit in the family by changing the group dynamics. They change the elements that help the individual in the family.

    Strategic therapy

The aim of this therapy is faster and better results in improving the family relationship. It promotes the members to take quick action by changing the way they communicate and make decisions.
